Fun and Relaxed Wedding in Skansen, Djurgården, Stockholm

wedding party in skansen, djurgården

Djurgården. It was a really hot day in august and my second time to Skansen, one of Stockholm’s most popular tourist attractions and destinations, also known as an outdoor museum. The view over Stockholm from the Oscar terrasse (where the ceremony was held) is remarkable and a big plus to why one should choose this location for the ceremony. It is not so bad either that the tree crowns are shaped like hearts, a natural phenome or not- it’s pretty neat.

The rock n roll inspired bride and the tail-coated groom arrive early at the big entrance gate to Skansen. There is even time for chips (with or without ketchup is the hard question) and ice cream before we head to the ceremony location.

The bride comes originally from Härjedalen, so the wedding couple has arranged two violinists escorting them to the ceremony playing folk music from this particular area. A great way to honor and tie together the heritage and the choice of location. The wedding is a mix of very old Swedish traditions and a modern, fun and relaxed wedding couple who is all about having a good time.

Fun and creative wedding portraits

After the ceremony the guests are sent off to the dinner venue at the Royal Academy of arts in a chartered bus. The wedding couple’s transportation is more fun and environmentally friendly -the public transportation. But we do take the fast route and a shortcut with the ferry. Before that we take some fun and creative portraits on the carousels. We are all laughing hard because it spins so fast. Of course, there is also quite a lot of tourists in Skansen and they also want to take some photos with the couple. It’s hard not to laugh, because it’s just pretty funny.
